Welcome to 'Acupuncture Angel' - Angela Mansfield's (B.A. (Hons), Lic/AC, MBAcC) website for anyone seeking private acupuncture treatment through a qualified practitioner in Leamington Spa and Warwickshire.

Who is Angela Mansfield?

Angela is a graduate of the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading. She chose to study at the college because it specialises in bringing together two main styles of acupuncture, whereas most other colleges focus on one or the other. From her home-town of Leamington Spa in Warwickshire, Angela is therefore able to treat patients in whichever way is most appropriate to them individually, and the combination of both styles of acupuncture can be very powerful indeed! What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is the stimulation of points along pathways of the body which the Chinese call meridians. The ancient Chinese people discovered that these meridians cover the body's surface and connect internally to organs. It evolved into a system of healing as the connection between the skin and the organs was better understood and more sensitive ways of stimulation were devised. By stimulating specific points along meridians, qi is allowed to flow, and blockages are cleared. Acupuncture practitioners commonly use two main types of treatment to stimulate these points: the use of very fine needles or a by heating a herb known as moxa. Read more....

Acupuncture treatment

Illness is the body's way of telling us that something is wrong with our body. In Chinese terms this means that something is out of balance. Treatment is the process of re-establishing the energy balance by stimulating the pathways.

When you visit your acupuncture practitioner for the first time, she will ask you for information about your symptoms and your treatment to date, your medical and family history, your systems and functions and your physical condition. Treatments usually last for about an hour and may continue weekly for a while, depending on the condition being treated.
